The Codes of Conduct of GG&LFC

When joining GG&LFC, all players, parents and managers/coaches are expected to agree to and sign the respective Codes of Conduct, set by the committee and are paramount to the continued Charter Club Status that the Club currently hold.

Managers/Coaches Code of Conduct

As a Coach / Manager I will:-

a) Respect the rights, dignity and values of every player and will treat each equally, regardless of colour, creed, race or disability.

b) Place the well being and safety of each player above all other considerations.

c) Abide by the rules of the club and the guidelines laid down by the FA.

d) Develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.

e) Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

f) Ensure that the activities I direct are appropriate for the age, experience and ability of the players and that the feedback will be constructive and positive at all times.

g) Clarify with the player what I expect of her and what she is entitled to expect from me.

h) Co-operate fully with other specialists (coaches, doctors, physios etc) in the best interests of the player.

i) Promote the positive aspects of the game (fair play) to players, parents and spectators alike and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game or behaviour contrary to the spirit of those laws.

j) Consistently display high standards of behaviour and be a role model for players, parents and spectators.

k) Refrain from smoking, drinking or using offensive language at training and matches.

Players Code of Conduct

As a player I will:-

a) Play because I enjoy football and not to please anybody else.

b) Respect the rights and values of every other person and will treat each player equally.

c) Abide by the rules of the club and this Code of Conduct.

d) Strive to display consistently high standards of behaviour and will work hard to improve my own personal playing ability.

e) Accept responsibility for my own behaviour and performance both on and off the field of play.

f) Seek to develop an appropriate working relationship with the coaches based on mutual trust and respect.

g) Seek to clarify with the coach what they expect of me and also what I am entitled to expect from them.

h) Co-operate fully with specialists (doctors, physios etc) in my own best interests.

i) Support the positive aspects of the game (fair play) and will never deliberately break the Laws of the Game or behave contrary to the spirit of those laws.

j) Refrain from using offensive language, smoking and from using alcohol or drugs.

k) Appreciate the efforts being put in by others on my behalf and will show them due consideration and respect.

l) Inform a member of the committee if there are any problems (medical or personal) that they should be aware of.

Parents Code of Conduct

As a parent I will: -

a) Encourage my daughter to play for fun and will not exert any undue influence on her.

b) Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and treat all equally, regardless of their colour, creed, race or disability.

c) Praise positive aspects of play and avoid becoming frustrated or ridiculing players.

d) Place the well being and safety of each player above all other considerations.

e) Agree to abide by the rules of the club, which I have read, and the guidelines of the FA.

f) Develop an appropriate supportive relationship with both coaches and players based on mutual trust and respect.

g) Encourage and guide my daughter to accept responsibility for her own behaviour and performance.

h) Co-operate fully with other specialists (coaches, doctors, physios etc) in the best interests of my daughter.

i) Promote the positive aspects of the game and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game or behaviour contrary to the spirit of those laws.

j) Consistently strive to display high standards of behaviour and praise effort and performance more than results.

k) Refrain from smoking, drinking and using offensive language in the vicinity of players.

l) Play my part in supporting the management of the club in the development of girls’ football in all its aspects.

m) Recognise the value and importance of the volunteer coaches and workers.
